We Didn’t See any Orcas

And no Northern Lights yet either. Tonight, I hope. We spent 18 hours on a train and two hours on a bus and 20 minutes on a ferry on a bus and four hours in a mall food court 150 miles north of the Arctic Circle to get here for this, after all.

I really like the all weather suits! Where can I get one?

Think back about going to Isle Royale? It is all about experiencing the journey, not about what you do when you get there.

You know, I didn’t make that Deadliest Catch connection until now, but I guess those suits are very similar to what they wear on the show. They’re somewhat heavy and difficult to move around in too, and I can’t imagine tossing one of those crab traps around while wearing one. Yet another reason never to become an arctic fisherman.

You guys look like you live up North here with me! Seems as though everyone has a survival suit on in the winter! Bummers on the Northern Lights….they are fickle and I think we’re in a slow period for those (something about solar minimums, blah blah). My favorite geeky website http://www.spaceweather.com posts info on when its best Northern Light viewing time….
